    Hi all,

Just finishing a comp with a wiggle expression applied to the orientation and position of camera in AE7. I was wondering if there was an easy way to taper of the influence of the wiggle. My animation comes to a halt on a logo and still jiggles about which I like, but I’d like to tame it down at this point. I’ve tried making keyframes out of the expression but then it is hard to tweak the extremes of the motion in the graph editor, the values don’t really seem to show up.

Any thoughts? Can I set a slider to control the amount of wiggle applied and then keyframe the slider?

    Thanks

    Dale

Yep, a slider control is the way to go.

Highlight either the Frequency (1st #) or Amplitude (2nd #) in you wiggle expression and pickwhip it to the slider. I think the Amplitude works a little better for calming things down, but either works.

The expression for a,plitude would the look something like this:

    wiggle(5, effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”))

Then set keyframes, and zero kills the wiggle.

if you search the archives for wiggle and ease you’ll hit plenty of results that show you how to do it.

yeah that totally worked and gave me a chance to figure out the slider control too. Thanks a lot. I’m just starting to get into expressions, but liking them!
