Problems encoding for h.264 format for ipod video podcasts
I have premiere pro cs4 using media encoder 4.1 and just upgraded to itunes 9 and quicktime 7.6.4. In order to use a new ipod touch, the itunes 9 must be used and it will only allow quicktime 7.6.4.
I do two podcasts and want to export the project using the h.264, ipod large settings in Media Encoder. Prior to the itunes update, I had backed down the itunes which allowed me to use quicktime 7.5.4 in order to get a clean render. Prior to the back down I get green screens and choppiness that ensue when you playback the rendered mp4 file. The current versions are not working together nicely. I cannot back down the versions due to the new ipod touch.
I have tried changing from VBR to CBR for the bitrate setting. No change in the result. Multiplexing from standard to ipod again, bad renders result.
I can render to microsoft AVI and use the current version of quicktime to then rerender to the m4v format but it comes out with a bigger file and not as clean looking. Want to only do one rendering not two.
I have searched the adobe knowledge base and can’t find anything about the encoder and quicktime issues with the problems that I’ve described.
Anyone know what else I might try or have a better work around to produce a cleaner file?

Using the H.264 and “Apple iPod Video Large” preset results in jitters.
What I found to work was to go ahead and encode using the above encoder settings then convert the resultant file using Oxelon video converter to create another MP4 video. That converted file will result with a file name xxxxx.mp4.mp4
This plays great on iPod touch.
