Has anyone else noticed that the audio timeline sometimes does not accept audio tracks?

Example: i pull a wav file from the library and try to add it to audio track line #1 but Premiere forces me to add the track to line #3. It actually prevents me from adding audio tracks WHERE I want them at times.. is there a reason for this??

    Thanks

Is the audio in the WAV file something other than stereo? If it’s mono or 5.1, and you try to drag it onto an existing stereo track, Premiere will create a new track to match the number of tracks in the file. In other words, you can’t drag a mono or 5.1 file onto a stereo track.

If the track you want to work with is 3, you can always delete 1 and 2. Additional tracks can be added later if needed.
