  avi codec

  I created a short video with CamStudio. It creates an AVI file that plays fine in Windows Media Player.

  When I bring it into Premiere Pro (CS3), it does not create an audio track; the video plays fine. (Yesterday, I brought in a mini-DV camera-recorded video, and the AVI audio and video played fine.)

  We think the problem is the codec. Can you advise me on a codec to load onto my system?

  Can you think of any other problem that might be causing this?

  What did you use when you encoded the avi, lossless or divx? and did you use lame for the audio?

  The avi was produced from Camtasia, and I think the avi may be encoded in divx. Don't know what the audio was encoded with. We ended up using Windows Movie maker to edit it. However, we'll need to solve the problem <code></code>for future projects, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

  Are you using CamStudio or Camtasia? they are two different apps, one is open source, the other is a commercial app.

  We are using Camstudio. Do you recommend Camtasia?
