Exported avi files are blurry and can’t be compressed
Dear friends,
I just got Adobe CS4 and started using Premiere Pro CS4. It all seems to go well until I look at the final product – the exported avi file. It is blurry and when I play it it shows me the black screen with a small regtangular screen in the middle that shows the file, in other words in does not show me full screen, and it is blurry.
Also, I tried to compress these files and the Auto GK that I use to compress does not recognize them.
I would greatly appreciate your advice. If you respond, please spell out every step that I need to make. I have looked at other blog posts, and often times I don’t understand the answers while other people seem to understand them better. Please explain it like you would to a little kid.

First, we’ll need to know your project settings, the type of files you have on the timeline, where the exported video is going to be played, and whether it’s HD or SD.

I just went to “file”, then “get properties for”, then “file”, then I went to the outputted avi file on my harddrive and got the following properties for it:

Are you trying to export for the web, or viewing on a PC, a DVD perhaps?

Hey, Vince,
thank you for your help. I need to make avi files that are big. I compress them later for the web but I like to have big files in case I lose the original.
When you mentioned project setting I went and saw that I had it in HD. So after reading another thread on creative cow I started a new project, made sure it was set to DV NTSC (48kHz) and then I told it to import my old project, then I rendered it again and outputted it. That wokred out just fine.
I appreciate your help. I will be back if I have any more questions.
