HD to BluRay generation loss
If I capture HD material to PP3 from my Sony HDR-fx1 which is a mpg1 format, edit it and burn it to a Blu Ray disk will I see a generation loss since the Blu ray is MPG2.

The video in a FX1 is Mpeg2, the audio is Mpeg1 -
When I looked at the file from a dos prompt it just says mpg, but your right and that being said when PP3 encodes it to blu ray is there a generation loss. I burned it to a Sony burner and played it back on a playstation and it looked ok but I expected better.

Hi Dan,
When encoding HD or HDV material to Blu-ray, the result should look excellent with no noticeable degradation. There are many factors that could cause issues, please check the encoding settings, the default may be low quality, turn up the data rate and/or choose H.264 encoding
