editing on a brand new Macbook Pro 13″

    my cameras:

    Panasonic DVX-100B
    Panasonic PV GS-500

neither camera will recognize in CS4 capture on my mac.

both cameras work in CS4 on a pc desktop and also a pc laptop

Here is the wierd part….i have full device control of the device through the capture window on my mac, but there is no picture, and it will not record anything from the camera.

I opened iMovie and it captures just fine from both cameras…eliminating a cable/camera/firewire port issue.

I have searched the adobe forums, and also the cow forums before writing this……..

PLEASE HELP! (shot a video this morning, and really need to have it editied by tonight.)

Thank you in advance for your help.

I know this is an old post. But I have just had a similar problem. It was saying it was playing in HD I could control it with Premiere Pro but no image or record button. Then I remembered I had done something with down convert on last time I used it. That was the problem. I had left down convert to DV on, and so thats why it wasnt showing as anything wrong on the camera.. Hope this helps if your still having problems months later 😛 or if anyone else comes across this.

    Hello,

I know that it’s been years since you have posted this, but I am having the exact same problem now. Did you find a solution and would you care to share?

    Thanks!

    Marielle,

Nobody ever posted an answer/solution to my original message. I ended up switching over to Final Cut Pro and capturing everything there. I then went to new Panasonic HD cameras that are tapeless, so I never did figure it out. At least that I can remember anyhow.

Is your software updated? Did you try switching the device control settings in the capture window? to generic device maybe?

Also in the capture window, check the capture settings to make sure that it is set to DV if that is what you are capturing from. If you are trying to capture DV and it is set to HDV it will definitely mess things up a bit.

Let me know if any of those things work for ya.

    Cheers

    Eric

I will try to help ya if I can.
