  Formats for CS4

  Hi all you Premiere experts!

  I just want to know what the best Video format is to work with Premiere CS4?

  I’ve been looking at some Canon camcorders with AVCHD but don’t know if that’s the best thing to work with in Premiere?

  Pretty simple stuff yeah I know but I’m a novice and would very much like to know so I could pick the right Camcorder!

  Thank you to all the people who take time to read this!

  AVCHD is a consumer format, highly compressed and requires a stout 4 core CPU to preview smoothly.
  HDV is the next step up (prosumer) and easier to edit.
  Suggest the ever popular Canon HV-30 or 40.

  I will probably buy the HV30 or HV40.

  Is there any different in editing with this format and a pro format?

  What would the next step up from a HV40 be?

  Pro formats like XDCam or P2 are larger files and can be edited just fine.

  Stepping up to a bigger camera with bigger lens like Canon XH-A1 will give better images.

  estou entre sony xr520 e canon hf10… sugiro que verifique forum hv20.com com pouco mais de grana pego fx7. preço para o Brasil é triste, muitos impostos
