    Hello All.

I am about to put together a whole festival worth of films and before I start I just need to know if Im approaching it in the right way. Here is what I want to do:

Using Prem CS3 (I have a Matrox RT. 2 Card) I need to capture masters edits (there will be a lot of different formats from DVCAM, DIGIBETA, High Quality QuickTime ETC) and assemble five screenings with the final foramt as DigiBeta.

Im going to comp out analog to DIGIBETA but I haven’t work with Digi much before so does anyone know what resolution Digi is and what would be the best preset to use with CS3

Matrox MPEG2 I-Frame (NTSC 720×486). Crank the quality slider up to whatever your disk system can handle.

    Cheers Eric

I’m in europe so I take it that I should use PAL 720×576? With a good bit of RAM I should be able to crank up the slider shoudn’t I?

I believe it is more a disk speed factor. Depending on transitions, audio, etc., you might be able to get 100Mb/s playback from a single SATA drive. For higher performance, multiple track playback, etc., you would want a stripe set or an array (or use a lower the data rate).
