  Premier PRO CS4 HDV capture

  Recently purchased Sony HVR Z7U. I recorded movie in 1080i 60. I am using PC with 8 processors and 4 gig memory.

  My problem is when I am trying to capture above movie with Premier Pro CS4, program captures movie but I can not see it on my computer monitor. My setting are HDV 1080i and I can control my camera’s VCR operations from the CS4 capture GUI.

  Should any one had similar issue and solved it, please let me know

  HDV does not preview during capture.

  This is, unfortunately, a “feature” of CS3/CS4, you can NOT preview the HDV video during a capture. Scene Detect does not work with HDV either.

  I’m a Matrox RT.X2 card user, and it adds both the above features with Premiere.

  With software alone, you can monitor video using the camera’s LCD or connect a monitor to the camera itself

  What would you say about Blackmagic Extreme 3 or Matrox RT.X2. Matrox is bit expensive.
