  Capturing from Sony Handycam DCR HC20E with Premiere CS3 on Mac

  Hey there!

  I can’t capture video signals from my “Sony Handycam DCR HC20E pal” into “Adobe Premiere CS3” on a MacBook. The Camcorder is recognised and works perfectly fine with iMovie through a 1394 Firewire cable.
  But in Premiere i always get the videosignal of the “build in” Cam mixed with the sound of my camcorder tape!!
  What is going wrong here? Is there anybody out there who can give me a hint?

  Did you select the right device in the capture menu under settings?

  Not sure how Macs manage devices, but there should be a way to disable the webcam if the above doesn’t work.

  hey vince!

  thanks for the answer! I choose DV/HDV device control in the device control field.
  that is the only setting available anyway. when i go into options just below the device field,
  i can choose the device brand. but even if i change it to sony it makes no difference.
  i can connect perfectly fine with another camcorder of a friend of mine. But when i use the same
  cable and same settings with the sony camcorder, it just wouldn’t work.

  do you think it is a problem between camcorder and premiere or between camcorder and mac?
