Recently, a Cow user helped me with an AE problem. Hopefully, the same can happen with this new PPro problem that started yesterday.

When I go to create a new title, the titler crashes PPro as it builds the titler interface.

I didn’t install any new fonts lately, and everything else seems to work.

I completely uninstalled the entire CS3 suite of apps (production premium version), and reinstalled, but the same issue happens.

But here’s something interesting: all of my PPro presets (ie, workspace preferences, even custom project settings) were still there after the uninstall/reinstall. So, some group of files survived this process, and I’m hoping that one or more of them are what’s causing my titler problem.

    Suggestions?

I have an HP workstation, 4 GB RAM, Vista 32-bit, AJA LH capture card. All the CS3 apps are up to date, and so is Windows and Quicktime.

    Thanks.

Thanks, I’ve seen that page (even tho it first comes up blank https://rynocable.com/temp09/blank.jpg ), and tried the techniques found elsewhere in that wiki. And I’ve scoured thru this thread, too: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/881347

    No luck.

I’m sure my fonts are fine (I checked them one-by-one in Photoshop). I’ve installed nothing new recently. It just stopped working. One minute it was fine, the next, crash every time.

In a last ditch effort, I made a new Windows login/account, and luckily, it worked in that new login! So, that’s my “fix” for this problem. Something in that other account must have gotten corrupted. What? I don’t know. I can’t waste more time trying to investigate this further.

Now I have to slowly migrate all my settings to the new account. A pain, but I guess it’s better than reinstalling everything from scratch.
