5.1 workflow trouble
I am encoding a film I’m working on as an H.264 in an mp4 container from Premiere CS4. I need it to playback on a Popcorn Hour A110 media player and pass a 5.1 audio stream through an optical link to be decoded in a surround receiver. The problem is that if you encode H.264/mp4 through Adobe Media Encoder, you can only select an AAC file as your audio format and I haven’t found a receiver that can decode a multichannel AAC stream. Is there a way to encode an HD file with either a AC3, DTS, or LPCM stream that a consumer surround receiver can decode?
Also, while I’m asking, I’ve tried importing 5.1 channel .wav audio that I’ve encoded with Premiere/Media Encoder into Encore CS4 and I get the error “More than two audio channels for this type of encoding is not supported”. Is this right? Can Encore really not handle 5.1 LPCM audio? Hopefully I’m just missing something simple.
Thanks in advance!
