  Audio Issues with Premiere CS 2.0

  I’m using Adobe Premiere Pro CS 2.0 at a broadcast TV station. In order to get things on air, we export to our playback server as Microsoft DV AVIs (VIDEO: DV NTSC, 29.97 fps, Max Bit Depth, Lower Field First AUDIO: Uncompressed, 48000Hz, 16-bit, Stereo, 1 second interleave).
  Once exported, our server converts the AVIs to .DV files (the format that our server will play out), and playback on-air is fine.
  Once playback is complete, the .DV files are run through Canopus Procoder 3 and converted to MPEG2-NTSC files and sent to our archive server.
  Now to my problem, when I try to pull anything off of my archive server, the reporter audio track is missing. I mix reporter track and interviews on Ch.1 and nat sound on Ch. 2 in Adobe, but the only thing missing is the reporter track. I can reverse the channels, and the same issue still occurs. I’ve also tried converting the .DV files back to Microsoft DV AVIs through Procoder 3, but I still don’t get the reporter track audio.
  I’ve been fighting this issue for a while, so if anyone has any insight, please let me know!

  When you export from PPro you get one audio stream. In other words, what you hear is what you’ve got. There is nothing “hidden” in there that can be accessed after the fact.

  The best way to archive your projects is to use the PPro Project Manager such that you keep the project file itself and all required source files.
