Just upgraded to CS4 prod. prem. I’m working with xdcam ex files (.MP4). The video is 1280×720, 29.97, Progressive, 1.0 aspect ratio. My sequence preset is: XDCAM EX 720p 30p. After I import the files half of them turn to totally green video. The clips that change to green vary everytime I reopen the project. I can still here the audio. Reloading the clips doesn’t help. Tried re-encoding them with Media Encoder to.mp4. Same problem. Updated video card drivers, updated Prem CS4 to 4.0.1, optimized Vista home prem 64bit (SP1) according to adobe tips, OS and Apps on dedicated drive. SATA drives, quad 2.5 ghz. processors, 8gb ram and ATI Radeon 3400 series vid card. Any ideas as to why this happening? Am I missing codecs? Video plays fine in Quicktime and Bridge.

This is a long shot but try and rename one of the problem .MP4 files to .MPG and then import it into PPro and see what happens.

    Cheers

Thanks for your reply. I tried that but it didn’t work. Same problem. I tried some links that I saw you post elsewhere and they were helpful. I called Adobe and they don’t know either. I called Sanyo (shot the footage on HD700) they said they are aware of the issue and can offer no other advice than to use QT Pro and export as .mov. They said that CS4 does not support their propietary Codec.

[Tishin Padilla] “they are aware of the issue”

It’s annoying when companies think they’re making anyone’s life easier by using proprietary “standards”.

    Thanks for letting us know.

    Cheers
