  • RAM Preview stopping short of work area

I have not encountered this problem in 6.5 and can find no help in online help or the manual. This project is being done in 7.0.

I have my work area set from 0s to 30s. I have 3 still images in the timeline (psd layers) and 1 wav file.

I cannot get RAM preview to run past 13s.

I have checked preferences and project settings and cannot seem to get past this.

Why does my RAM preview always stop short of my work area?

    Thanks,

    JayH

I think I figured this out. I guess 2GB RAM on a 3.2 P4 is not enough HP for what I’m trying to accomplish in preview mode. I can get wireframe to show me what I’m doing, but come up short on RAM.

    Thanks,

    JayH

Your still images may be very large. One of the major RAM-sucking issues is the size of source layers.

Can you take your images into Photoshop and reduce them there and reimport, or create smaller proxies to use?
