February 27, 2009 at 6:04 amI see, you want to open a Premiere Project in AE via dynamic link. I don’t think you can. That would be cool. You can import a PProj file, and export out as a PProj file, but the dynamic link is not active.

February 27, 2009 at 1:52 pmHi…
Select Clips in the Premiere Timeline and COPY
Open AE
Create a Comp of the same resolution at your Premiere Project.
Paste.
This will place the clips form the Premiere timeline into the AE Comp will all timing Preserved offsets preserved (except HDV apparently, there’s a bug with GOP media).
You will likely need to trim the comp to the area where the clips land.
That comp can then be dynamically link imported into Premiere Pro and edited into a timeline.
That way if you need to edit the comp after the fact, you can right click it in the Premiere timeline to open it and change it.
This also means that you don’t have to render in AE, but rather control your renders from the Premiere timeline.
Hope this helps,

October 29, 2012 at 6:20 pmHi,
Not sure if this was covered. Is there a way to export a Premeir sequence into AE so that the Premier sequence edits are preserved as individual layers in AE. Further a Dynamic Link is established so if later edits are made in PREMIER those edits update in AE? -

October 29, 2012 at 7:05 pmHello…
After Effects can import a PPro edited sequence and see it as layers.
Once you save it as and AE project, however, it’s independent of PPro Project…not dynamically linked.
The dynamic link is really the other way….
You can send clips or stacks of clips from a seq in PPro to AE and use them to create AE COMPS.
if this is done….
if you replace sources in AE….then the AE changes propagate to the PPro clip container pointing to the AE comp…

October 29, 2012 at 7:27 pmHi Alex,
That is what I suspected and have been experiencing.
Is there a work around/cheat that would allow for such edits to be made?
Thank you.
