PPro, AE, and Dynamic Link CS4
I did a search and it looks like Dynamic Link in CS4 is causing quite a bit of consternation. I didn’t see my particular issue, though.
I have some AE comps and I’m dragging them into PPro. I then drag those into the timeline and all but one of them are missing the audio. The audio looks like it is there, but there is no waveform. This did, however, work as expected on one of the comps. The specs are the same on all of the comps and all are using mp3s as the source audio. They play fine in AE. The only immediate difference I can see is that the ones that are missing audio are about 5 minutes long and the one with the audio is less than a minute. All of the linked comps have yellow bars above them in the timeline.
I tried:
> Disabling then re-enabling the audio track in AE (hoping the dynamic link would see a change)
> Adding an effect to the audio in AE
> Choosing Sequence->Render Audio in PPro
> Waiting about an hour to see if the conforming was taking a long timeIt looks like the .pek files were created for AE (looking at the dates), not sure why PPro couldn’t use them.
Anybody else seen this or have suggestions? I need to hear the audio in order to time it with other footage. I realize I could just render the AE comps, but that kind of ruins the point of Dynamic Link, right?
Thanks,
Pauley
