Can someone help me with a question regarding previewing audio levels during capture in Premiere Pro CS4? I’ve been able to capture video and audio but do not know how to adjust the audio levels during capture. Hoping someone out there can help!

Data capture via IEEE 1394 (i.Link/firewire) is a digital transfer. In other words a bit-for-bit copy is made from your source (for example Mini DV tape) to your hard drive. If you want to modify the audio, do it in the NLE.

    Thanks for the reply Eddie.

It appears that Premiere isn’t going o allow me to see the audio levels prior to capture. I can’t believe they would make NLE software that doesn’t allow for adjusting the audio levels prior to and during capture.

I used to use a DPS Velocity system designed for a PC and that would allow me to view and adjust the audio. The major draw back to that system is that the video/audio board required SCSI drives to record to.

Anyway, thanks again for your input.
