    Hello

I need help with a large project with at least 50 clips of various sizes. some of the clips are “interviews” and some are just video. i have a music background for the whole project.

some of the interviews audio was in need of effects to help boost the clairity.

at one point when i was creating the project it crashed. when i went to start it up again premier warned me and i saved with a different name and the project loaded with out a problem. this was pretty earlier on, i had most of the interviews in place, but there was still a lot of other things that needed doing.

as i worked on the project i noticed that sometimes the audio of the interviews would drop in volume and if i stopped the play back of the time line and then restarted playback it would be fine. i didnt think much of it at the time.

after finishing the project i outputted to a wmv with adobe encoder. when playing back the export it would have trouble with the audio just like the time line, except it wouldnt reset if you stopped and restarted playback.

so i figured i would purge the preview files and trim the project to get rid of all the excess stuff.

this seemed to help the first time. but now my audio seems to have the same problem no matter what i do. i even turned off all the effects and played back the audio in the timeline and it still has the problem.

it almost seems that the audio in the trimmed “original” footage has been damaged.

    help is appreciated.

Have you tried exporting the audio as an audio file, editing outside of Prem and then reimporting as one clip?

Is it pixels or pixies that I’m having trouble with?

    Hello Andrew

thanks for responding. after much frustration i found the problem, i think…

i took a look at the tracks keyframes and volume levels. i had a bunch of key frames on the audio track. i went through and killed them, and it seems to have fixed the problem.

another part of the problem i believe was the fact that each clip had not been normalized. so i went through and did that as well.

i finally got the project finished. the audio worked out and at this point that is all that matters. 🙂
