  • Adobe Premier – import mp3, sounds like a skipping record

Posted by Elaine Walton on October 27, 2008 at 9:56 pm

When I import an mp3 file from my desktop to adobe premier and place it on the timeline, it sounds as if the song is playing from a record player because it has a noise every few seconds of a needle scratching a record. When I play the mp3 in Itunes there is no noise and it sounds perfectly fine. Also, when I export my timeline to a dvd, the skipping sound remains. any suggestions?

If you convert the MP3 file to a WAV file before importing it into Premiere Pro does it still sound bad?

    Cheers

On closer examination, the mp3 files are fine, it is the m4a files that sound like a record. Do I need to download a specific software to convert m4a to mp3?

I have just changed my import on itunes to mp3 and will import the songs again to see if it was the m4a files that were skipping.
