Premiere tripping on footage captured on screen
I’m attempting to capture some on-screen clips of our engineers working with their CAD software to be used in a DVD. I’ve settled on using CamStudio for the capturing. Among the few codecs it offers is “Microsoft video 1,” which is the only one that doesn’t result in a choppy video.
We’ve captured several video clips in this fashion and it appears fine if played with a stand-alone player. When I bring them into Premiere (CS3), however, the video appears extremely choppy and generally mangled. This is the case before & after rendering/encoding.
The only solution I’ve come up with is to use VirtualDub to basically remove any/all compression before bringing it into Premiere. While this works, it results in VERY large files that aren’t very manageable. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
