I have a background still that contains a video “board” that I want my footage to play in. I’ve created a “New Title” and masked out the area for the footage to preview in. The “mask” is in the timeline. I’ve selected the footage track and applied “Set Matte” and pointed it to the correct layer.

So far all is good. The problem is that I want to focus on varying areas within the footage. When I move or scale my footage the Set Matte moves with it. I want the mask to stay where it is so I can animate the position/scale of my footage around. Basically, I want it to act like a alpha track matte in AE.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You need to put the clip that you’re going to be scaling and re-positioning into its own sequence. Do the scaling and positioning there, then nest that sequence in the main sequence and apply the track matte.

You will find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

    Cheers
