  Targeting Audio tracks CS3

  I working in DVCPRO50 – so I have four channels of audio –

  1. how do you set it up where you target which tracks to use, instead of having to take all four. I want channel one and two only.

  2. when editing, if i extract, only channel one extracts leaving the other audio behind. How do you select more than one audio track for editing.

  Before you bring the P2 clips to the timeline, select them all, then go to Clip > Audio options > Source channel mappings.

  From there you can uncheck unused channels and assign the others to either a stereo track or 2 mono tracks.

  Thanks again, I read the manual on channel mapping but did not pick up on that. You saved me hours of keystrokes.

  Do you know if there is a way to select multiple audio tracks for trimming?

  Hi david,

  don’t select tracks, select the clips themselves and just use the trim tools (ripple) and all selected bits will follow suit.

  Glad it worked out. Just saw Jon’s got your answer.

  BTW, to select several audio tracks, hold Ctrl+Alt and click on the audio tracks.
