    Hi,

I am new to Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. I have managed to import some mpeg files to the project tab. But when I play the files in either the monitor or timeline tab there is nop sound on the files. I have played the clips on windows media player and it works fine. I am desperate to find out how to resolve this problem.
Any help would be very musch appreciated.
    Thanks

Editing Mpeg files is dicey in any version of Premiere. It is likely the audio is AC3 Dolby. Convert audio into Wave and probably convert video into DV type 2 and then edit in Premiere.
Premiere Elements is probably a better solution for editing Mpeg.

Do as Mike suggests. See also: FAQ:Why is there no audio in my imported MPEG file?

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

    Cheers
