Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
I’m having trouble with my new tial copy of Adobe Premiere Pro cs3 I just got the other day. I’m trying to open up a project I started in Premiere Pro 2.0, but the program commits an illegal operation when loading it up. I have opened up other projects perfectly without fail, but this one in particular won’t open. What’s going on? Any help is appreciated.

My first thought is that you used some third-party plug-in in 2.0 that you don’t have in CS3, but that usually doesn’t prevent a project from loading.
One thing to try is: create a new project in CS3 and import the 2.0 project.

If I do that, the program freezes instead.

Hmm, I seem to have just about solved my own problem. I updated to CS3.2 last night and then tried opening the project. It suddenly works now, but it takes about half an hour to load, even though the project is just 11.5 megabytes. Is there something else that might be wrong here that I don’t know about? Any further help is much appreciated. Thanks.

That’s why it is very important to post as many details as possible. If we had known you were not using the latest version that would have been one of our first recommendations. 🙂
Now try this: Close the project. Rename the folder(s) with your source clips so as to “hide” them from PPro. Open the project and offline all the clips. Now online each clip individually and hopefully you will discover one that takes too long. Replace it.
