    Hey guys,
Sorry if this topic is a dupe post. I searched the archives and didn’t find anything off the bat.

While I have enjoyed many of the new features, (i.e.- increased color space, speed, graph editor) there is one thing that makes me furious. I can’t stand the new UI and locked windows. I don’t need my program to look “pretty” to get my work done, infact, I would prefer it to be as plain as possible. Unlocking and re-configuring the panels is a huge pain to me. Is there a way to revert back to the 6.x UI style. The same thing made me mad when XP came out all colorful and bubbly looking, but atleast Microsoft allows you to switch to windows “classic” styles. I really hope Adobe did the same. Thanks in advance for your help.

No. You can turn off “Use Gradients” but there “skinability” ends.

Well, you can’t do it in one go. But you can undock each and every window individually (choose undock from the pop-out menu in the window). You can even save the undocked configuration as a workspace.

it’s hard sometimes to get used to new interfaces but after using 7 for a few weeks now I much prefer the docking and tabs. I find it much faster. Had to work in 6.5 today and it was a real pain to navigate around.
