How can I add a different speech audio track and still work in the source monitor?
I’d like to add a different audio track to some speech that I have and I was wondering how I add a different speech audio track -group it with the video and still work in the source monitor? So far I have had to work from the timeline after adding different audio but this can’t be the best way.
Your help is much appreciated

Besides re-rendering out something from the timeline with the correction you can’t just group stuff and use them as a mended clip in the source monitor. its a place for trimming original media, not adjusting it.

Well, try this.
Drop the clip on the timeline in Sequence 1,
mute the audio track, then ADD the audio to the next available audio track you want to use.
then go to File -> New -> Sequence,
In the timeline select this sequence (sequence 2).
then drag and drop sequence 1 to the source monitor.
