Wrong Sized Video Clip
Ok this is really wierd. I have filmed several events with two SD cams – a Sony and a Canon XL2. But I also use a third camera….a HD cam. When I caputre, I am almost always careful to change the settings from HD to DV or back and forth, whatever is necessary. Herein lies the problem. While I am working in the multicam function, the clips look fine. However, when I get back into the regular multicam timeline, the clips from the HD cam are all squed and sized wrong. And I know that is true because, if I want to replace a certain clip, all I do is double click on the one I want to change and it opens up the multicam window to the left of the preview box. The clip size in that window is correct. But when I resume playing from the multicam timeline below, when it gets to the HD clip in the sequence, the size is wrong. Is there something that needs to be checked or changed when I capture the footage from the camera?
Somebody please help. AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I’m sorry your message isn’t all that clear. Are you working in 16×9 4×3 which is the clip you want to work right doing that’s not right? If you are working with the Z1 HDV camera by sony you can set that camera to capture the HDV as DV…

I captured all of the footage in 16:9 and it looks like 16:9 when I do the multicam edits. But for some reason, when I go back to the multicam time line – 1 video track and 1 audio track – the clips from the HD footage seem blown up and zoomed in or something like that. I just know they are not the same size as the SD clips.

Make sure your HD clip is set to Scale to Frame Size. Because its HD res inside an SD timeline it is pixel for pixel bigger and looks zoomed in. The Multicam feature is probably automatically doing the Scale to Frame Size although its not switched on in the timeline.
To activate this feature right click the clip in the timeline and select the option “Scale to Frame Size”.
