  HDV video problem

  Trying to edit HDV footage (shot on JVC 110 24p) using Premiere Pro 1.51. The footage was captured to hard drive using Final Cut Pro on a Mac and work just fine on the Mac. On my PC in Premiere, I can import the .mov file, but I get audio only no picture. I get the same thing opening the files with QuickTime. I assume I need a MPEG2 codec or plug-in of some kind? Any ideas? Thanks.

  Sorry to break this to you, but Mac FCP uses its own Mac only codec called ProRes. This is not available on PCs! You will need to re-export the clips in a codec that both platforms can use like DV, Uncompressed or Animation… I’m very disappionted in Apple for making their software so incompatible with other professional environments that are, believe it or not – PC based Production Studios.
  The other option is to recapture it on the PC.

  I tried all the codecs I could find and I was concluding the only way for me to get the footage to work on my PC was to recapture with my PC, oy, not something I really want to do! Damn shame Apple can’t be a little more inclusive and helpful.
