MJPEG codec and premiere
hello
i work with premiere cs3 for editing outdoors movies i film with a sony dv cam and i just added a camera for underwater video (https://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/browse.asp?cid=6&scid=14)
the camera films on flash card with a mjpeg codec at 640×480 at 30fps
i usually work with dv pal 25fps
now i have an ffdshow filter codec installed for mjpeg
and i try to mix the mjpeg cam with the dv cam , usually for very short
pieces of underwater footage in mjpeg.
the problem is that premiere usually crashes while tryin to edit thos files togther with other dv parts , usually just after adding them to the project while CONFORMING the files but also after cuting them on the timeline , and sometimes even while rendering to disk , if i get to that point…
also the rendering process , even for preview of the pieces from the mjpeg take alot of time compare to the dv , like 10 minutes for 1 minute piece…
i was trying to convert them to dv with an extrnal software before
adding to premiere but then i allways get a file with black side frame , and it makes it difficult to edit like that , i think its because the camera takes 640×480 resolution and not NTSC.
if i do a convert for each file one by one with the premiere in a project that is 640×480 and i just render it to dv pal its fixing it but it takes alot of time to render long videos and since i have alot of videos like that i need a way to do it all in one click and let it run over night and with premiere its only one at a time…
so is ther any program to convert them in a good resolution?
or any fix for working with mjpeg ? maybe different codec?
thanx.
