  24 fps to 29.97 ghosting

  I exported a 2D animation to DVD from Premiere Pro CS3 and on tv there is a lot of ghosting. All animated clips were rendered out 24fps. The timeline property is set at 24 fps and I used Premiere’s Adobe Media Encoder to export 29.97 interlaced MPEG2-DVD. What am I missing to correct the ghosting?

  If you plan on exporting to 29.97, you’ll have to work in a 29.97 timeline. In my past experience, Adobe Media Encoder will not correctly add the 3:2 pulldown. My advice would be to re-export your animation to 29.97.

  You can however make a 24P DVD, the player will take care of the pulldown for you on playback, and you will improve your quality a bit since you have less frames.

  The last solution would be to export uncompressed, but you will probably need After Effects and a little help from: https://www.videocopilot.net/presets.html?id=100

  This is what I ended up doing yesterday. Took up half my day though. Uncompressed render was over 30 gigs! After Effects did a good job with the pull down.
