  • Is track matte the answer?

Hi! I am trying to create a photo montage, and every now and then, I want to use a black background with a border/frame, with white text in the center, as the ‘narrator’. So whenever it’s time to take a break from the photos and have a ‘visit’ from the narrator, I’d want the text fading in and out (sentence after sentence), while the border frame remains totally constant.

What is the easiest way to accomplish this? Seems like I could use a track matte to do this, i.e. a rectangular matte in the middle of my border/frame image, so that the text can show through, but I’m not sure if this way is the most efficient.

    Help! (and thanks in advance!)

I’d just make a picture in Photoshop of the background you want and use that – then just add your text over it.

I discovered how to use opacity last night to achieve what I wanted. Thanks!
