Batch Capturing HDV with timecode in Premiere?
Hi, I’m having a rather difficult situation caused by Sony Vegas 6. I took footage shot on an FX1 in HDV, and to save on disk space I batch captured with timecode at DV resolution, figuring I could recapture the finished project at HDV resolution when done. Apparently this is no problem with Premiere Pro from the listings I’ve seen here, but VERY UNFORTUNATELY Vegas 6 won’t do this simple task, and I don’t think Vegas 7 or 8 will either (though I’m not yet 100% sure of that). So at this point I’m pretty messed up.
Does Premiere Pro CS3 batch capture with timecode HDV footage?
I do have the timecode info for my source clips, and if I can capture with Premiere these clips in HDV, I can then replace the DV clips with the HDV in Vegas and should be OK (though even that’s a lot of work!). I’m also looking at Cineform Aspect HD, but if Premiere can batch capture HDV then I won’t need it.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP! Makes me wish I’d edited with Premiere in the first place, then I wouldn’t have ended up in this mess.
Sincerely,
Rick
