I’m running (windows) AE 6.5.1 and everything was just fine, until I intalled the latest version of QT pro. Now, when I do boot AE it crashes right around the time it’s loading Open GL. If I uninstall QT, the problem goes awaysand it boots fine but clearly I have no quicktime support in AE (as it’s no longers installed) and get an error message. Also, if I do a system restore, the problem goes away but when I boot AE I get an error message saying a “compatible version of Quicktime could not be found on your computer” . It’s like for some reason AE 6.5 and the latest version of QT can’t coexist on the same computer. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

might not apply, but i had a similar problem with qtime 7 on the mac with afx 6.5.1, trying to render from a year old project that used to render fine. ended up having to uninstall qtime 7 and reinstall qtime 6.5.something, and everything rendered fine, no crashes. look on the mac support site for the uninstall routines. ultimately ended up having to re-install qtime 7 which also “broke” the canopus video I/O functionality. that problem, i think, was mac-specific having to do with quicktime receipts and permissions and was experienced by many unhappy users on the apple support forums with a variety of devices and cameras.
