Can anyone recomend a good graphics card for Premiere Pro 2 on XP.
Is there one that will output the timeline video to a tv monitor?

    Thanks.

SD or HD? for SD you can use a DV video cam that has pass-through or a DV to A/V converter from Adstech or canopus

Its only SD, Im looking for a low cost solution as we are a small independant school. Maybe the dv to av converter will work .
    Any other ideas/recomendations?

    Thanks again.

For 2 screen solution, and some good hardware acceleration, I would look at the Nvidia 8800.

If you want to see your preview in a monitor (Broadcast or just a TV), the Canopus ADVC 110 is the one I would recommend (although there is no component output). The video will be sent through firewire.

The Adstech API-557, PYRO A /V Link, also has component I/O(YPbPr) and is about $65 cheaper, available from Amazon with free shipping.

Thanks for your advice, We ended up getting the Canopus ADVC 110. We get TV monitor output from After Effects but not Premiere Pro 2? Is there something Im missing here?

If you are running them at the same time, that could be your problem. They would both try to use the hardware at the same time.

If not, have you set your Premiere playback settings to External: IEEE 1394 ?
