Fatal Error: message: could not find installation directory – reinstall sidechain compressor ??
On my desktop premiere pro 2.0 runs smoothly.
On my laptop it shuts down with the message:
Fatal Error: message: could not find installation directory – reinstall sidechain compressor
I tried to install different sidechain compressors, but I guess I’m not doing it right.
I work a lot with recording and editing audio in cubase with a lot of plug-ins, maybe I did something there?
I don’t know what to do where and I need the premiere 2.0 on my laptop to get my work finished !

My recommendation would be to disable a few of the audio plugins. Premiere Pro does look into the VST plug-in folder of the system and that may be why you are seeing that error message.

Did you install Ppro after Cubase?

Ppro is nosey and probably found the plug-ins directory in Cubase like Aanarav mentioned, but may not know what to do with the SideChaining VST(I think its a dll in Cubase4), there is a update(4.1)(over 100MB) to Cubase on line at Steinberg, I think it handles chaining differently it appears its built-in to the effects now, but since Ppro is giving errors the best way maybe to uninstall both, clean the Ppro directories, and then reinstall Ppro first then Cubase with the 4.1 update.
I’m taking a shot in the dark as the computer I have Cubase on is on its can, and I’ve got Studio 4 on my portable DAW which I just updated.
