Trouble Importing DVCPRO 50 HD Quicktime files
HELP PLEASE!!!!!
I just finished shooting 3 commercials using the Panasonic HDX900 and the footage was not only put to tape but also captured via firewire to a external drive thru Final Cut Pro. The clips were then exported using the DVCPROHD 1080i 60 codec. When I try to import the HD clips onto my drive and into Premiere Pro 2 the clips come in as completely white. We also tried the 720p 30 codec with the same results. They come in but it’s like PP2 doesn’t like the codec or something. I’ve also tried importing into After Effect 7.0 with the same results. When the clips were down converted to SD in FCP and imported they were fine. Before making the decision to shoot in HD my co-worker and I looked at both programs to make sure we could edit in HD and we were under the impression that we could. Since we could capture right to a external drive that we could then hook to our computer and edit right away was a huge draw for us. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get this HD footage into one of these programs? I would really like to edit these in HD. 2 of these shoots were green screen and the keys would look so much better in the native HD format. So PLEASE HELP!
Thanks so much in advance for any assistance.JCS
