  Looking for a versatile capture card

  Hey everyone. I’m a college student, new to the forums, and looking to purchase a capture card. I need a card that not only works with firewire, but RCA/composite cables from a DVD player and allows me to capture footage directly into Adobe Premiere. I’m purchasing a heavy duty PC system, so most cards should be compatible. I would like the card to be affordable though, not more than a few hundred dollars. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  Many mini DV camcorders have a “pass thru” capacity. Plug the cam into PC via firewire and then plug your DVD player into the camera.
  Failing that, there are several analog/digital converters that will do the job, like ADS Tech Pyro A/V link or Canopus ADVC 100 or 300. The Pyro is less than $200.
