  I construct my project bins carefully and with hierarchies. These bins and hierarchies are reflected exactly on my HD with the same folder names, hierarchies, etc.
  When I ask PP to trim my project, it dumps all my trimmed media into one HD folder and I totally lose my careful ordering of my media.
  Is there a way to avoid this mess?

  Well, there are two ways to trim a project.

  If you are asking Premiere to “remove unused” without coppying to a new folder, the hierarchy should remain intact.

  If you are copying all to a new single folder, then, yes, I believe you are stuck the new hierarchy.
