Multicam Audio
It appears that multicam editing uses either Audio 1 only or Audio follows Video.
I setup my source sequence with my four cameras on four tracks. The primary audio is from the two main cameras, Camera A (track 1) and Camera B (track 2).The two cameras offset the start times by about a minute, so during tape changes we always have primary audio.
Thus, about every 30 minutes the primary audio changes from Track 1 to Track 2.
Throughout the sequence, I set the volume on all clips to silent, except for the primary audio (track 1 or track 2).
On two occasions, the two primary cameras changed their tapes within a few seconds of each other, so I need to use Camera C or Camera D as primary audio for 10-15 seconds to cover the gap.
Thus, my primary audio is usually on Track 1 or 2, but occasionally on 3 or 4.
However Premiere doesn’t work that way. When I play back my multicam monitor to make my edits, I have no audio at all, not surprisingly.
What would be the best way to remedy this?
I have some ideas, but want to hear others’ ideas.

PS – Once the sequence is cut, do I do color correction on the nested multicam sequence, or go back to the source sequence?
Same goes for tweaking audio levels. Do I do that on the nested sequence or the source?
Almost seems like it would be easier to cut this on the source sequence, setting up the video in 4 quadrants and manually making the cuts.

I decided to export a WAV from my source sequence. Then I moved all my audio tracks down one track, and inserted my WAV of the master audio on track one.
However going back to the multicam nested sequence, I still have no audio no matter what I try.
I just noticed that although I renamed my source sequence (originally it was called sequence 01) the multicam sequence still shows the nested sequence as sequence 01. Could it be that once you start a multicam session you cannot alter the source sequence?
I made a new sequence and dragged the source sequence and enabled multi-cam, and now it works fine with the audio intact. So that answers my question.
Hmm, I wonder what would happen if I changed the name of my original multi-cam sequence back to sequence 01?
No luck. I guess I found a limitation of multi-cam editing. Meanwhile I have spent most of a day trying to figure out the problem, I could have cut it the old fashioned way in that time.
Adobe, any ideas?

seems to work with the exported wav on track 1. I think this pretty much pushes my computer to the brink of its capabilities. I get about 1 frame per second on the preview monitor, and a few frames per second in each of the 4 camera views in the multicam monitor. It is adequate to make my selections but it may finally be time to put the Pentium 4 out to pasture (no cow pun intended)!
