I’m capturing video from a mini DV cam (Panasonic P2 series), and my footage has a small black line across the top. I’ve had this happen before as well, so it’s not a one time thing. My project settings are DV NTSC, 29.97 frames/sec, 720×480, 0.9 Pixel Aspect Ratio, and the capture format is DV Capture. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Will

That’s completely normal Will in DV/DVCam.

At 720 x 480 your image size is slightly reduced in height compared to the standard 486-lines. This will leave a small black band at top of frame. It is, however, well into the cut-off area on a normal TV so it won’t be visible. If it really bothers you, you could scale the image size to fit the frame but then you’ll lose a bit of the picture width.
