  Exporting Help

  Currently i am recording live TV with WINTV2000 on my computer and saving it to hard disk in an .avi format for use with premiere pro 2.0. After editing i want to exprt as a .wmv for online streaming. I need to keep the highest quality as possible. The issue that i am having is the exporting.

  When i export the video looks washed out and the quality is not that great. I am using Dvix as my codec on my computer but and it looks fine before and during editing, but the final product is poor. I am also using .wmv files but when they are exported they also look poor.

  not sure what i am doing wrong or what information that you need to help me.

  What frame size are you using, and at what data rate? And are you using a two pass encode?

  While your TV card capture may look OK, it is too highly compressed to stand up to editing and exporting to yet another generation of highly compressed video.
  If you are serious about doing TV capture you will need an external tuner like a VCR or some DVD players connected to an external analog to digital converter like a Canopus ADVC 110 or ADS Pyro A/V Link or a DV camcorder, capture via Firewire as DV and edit and compress that.
