  • Render bar in Premiere Pro 2

I have recently upgraded to Premiere Pro 2 from Premiere 7.
In version 7 when you imported footage and placed it on the timeline, it would show as a green renderbar indicating that no rendering was required in order to have smooth playback on the timeline. However in PPro2 when you do this the render bar shows red, indicating the rendering is required in order to get smooth playback. Can anyone advise me on how to get PP2 to behave like version 7 in this specific regard. If I have to render a large chunk of footage when first placing on the timeline it will add considerably to my production times.
    Thanks

Use MS-DV AVI type2 sources, they do not need rendering.

Many thanks. This seems to work fine.
