Video\Audio doesn’t play at all in Premiere Pro
All the “Play” buttons don’t work in Premiere Pro 2. So of course, I can’t preview any movie\clip… I can’t scrub through anything, not video and not audio! What can be wrong? I checked all the programs Video and Audio preferences, but all seem to be OK.
Just to note, I just installed the Premiere Pro 2 for the first time, so it’s not like it used to work and then stopped working.

Could be a combination of highly compressed footage as your source material and/or limitations of your computer.
Tell us about your source material and your PC. -
The footage is captured clips right from my SONY digital video camera into the Primere Pro. No compression at all. My computer is a Compaq Presario P4, 2.56 Ghz, RAM: 512 with plenty of space on the HD. Never had computer problems or software problems. (No BSOD… lucky me… tfu tfu tfu)

Believe me, I read all the help and manuals I can before I posted this. How do you think I found this form if not googling around for hours on this issue?

as far as the problem is concerned, I think you need to check your configuration…it seems very light for PPro to me.
However…you are capturing the video, correct? (You’ve played the clips in windows media player to verify?)
How is the video coming into the computer? FireWire? I/O card like Matrox, AJA?
What are the project settings? If they are anything but Adobe uncompressed, you certainly are compressing the video…if you are in a DV project (the only way the FireWire would work for capture), you are creating DV files and DV is compressed. Without a significant investment in harddrive technology, you wouldn’t be able to even play back uncompressed video…
So, basically the point that we need more information as presented by Mike is valid…

I just tried building a 1 hour project on a 2.4 Celeron with 512 RAM and it reached a point where just loading the project would crash Premiere and Premiere elements. Moved the project to another PC, 2.8 P4 HT with 1 GB RAM and all went easy. 512 RAM is not enough to do very much with Premiere.
Having only one hard drive also compounds the problems.
