  Audio-Video Sync When Playing From The Time Line

  I posted about this a couple weeks back, but the thread seemed to die. I thought I’d give it one more try before looking elsewhere for answers.

  I’m importing Windows AVI files into PP. I know the sync is good on these because I’ve been looking at these files for years. When I put them on the timeline in PP, the sync is off a few frames during playback as seen in both panes of the monitor window. This is not a capture issue.

  Not my favorite way to edit video. Anyone have any ideas? Please?

  I really thought PP would be a solid program. It’s very disappointing. :^(

  Are you previewing audio thru an external DV device? (Playback Settings)? What is it?

  Oops. You asked about audio. I’m previewing audio through either of two Windows sound cards. One’s a Soundblaster, the other’s a Pro-level interface, the RME Digiface, which is sending ADAT lightpipe signals to my digital audio mixing console, a Panasonic WR-DA7. I run a pro audio studio.
