Plugins question….
Hi all,
What would you say is a good plugin collection start-up to own for Adobe Premiere Pro for an intermediate ? I know it’s though to say, but between you and me, I like the options Boris plugins can do, but for a regular guy like me, paying above 1000$ for a serie of effect is out of the question.
What, according to you are the best-kept secrets in terms of plugins ?

I don’t own any plugins. I suppose I might eventually find a need for something like the Trapcode Light pack. https://www.pluginz.com/product/11206
Or, perhaps Twixtor for slow motion. https://www.revisionfx.com/rstwixtor.htm
But, so far, if I can not do it woth After Effects Pro, I don’t really need it.

These are not all plug-ins, some are stand alone programs, but IMO for me these are the most useful ones for video editing:
1. Minnetonka Surcode 5.1 AC3 encoder
2. Pixelan SpiceMaster 2.5
3. FreedomFx Animattes
4. BorisFX and Graffiti
5. Magic Bullet Movie Looks
6. Synthetic Aperture Color Finesse
7. Serious Magic Ultra2 and DVRack
8. Canopus Imaginate
9. Canopus Procoder Express
10. HollywoodFX
11. Scenalyzer
12. Pixelpops PixelMixer
13. Sonicfire Pro 4/SmartSoundThere are many more but this list may give you an inkling of what is available. I have probably overseen many others, due to lack of expertise.

And if you do own After Effects a good amount of them can also be used in premiere by simply copying them to the plugin folder.
and using After Effect will be a lot more rewarding than spending twice as much money to make it happen in Premiere.
I’d say, if you shoot in the field, do buy DV Rack, that’s saved me a ton of time countlessly. Other than that, I’d wait until you see a project that requires any of the others.

Just to add onto this particular tip:
A lot of the cycore plugins, such as the rain filter can be used and installed in Premiere Pro.– Aanarav

Just a thought here. As you do your editing you will find that the most common things used are a stright cut or dissolve !
