  Speed and duration question?

  Don’t know if I am doing something wrong but I figured I’d run this past the experts…

  I have some DV footage shot at 16:9 on my Panasonic GS400 on the. The length of the clip that I’d like to modify speed on is about 53 seconds. Here is what I want to do:

  Frames 1-87 normal speed
  Frames 88-208 25 percent speed for slow mo effect
  Frames 209-524 normal speed
  Frames 525-1599 25 percent speed for slow mo effect

  I applied cuts to the master clip at the exact places and made 4 separate clips. I applied speed changes to #2 and #4. The issue that I am seeing is that when the 25% speed clips end and the normal ones start again it seems “jumpy” as if frames are skipped or dropped. What is the secret to making this look good and seamless?

  You could try a short Cross dissolve at the transition points. (May or may not work but its an idea in the absence of speed ramping in PPro : unless you use AFX or Twixtor)

  Craig, thanks for the reply. I ended up using the velocity envelope in Vegas to do what I needed. That particular feature is very nice and highly intuitive. I guess this is an area for possible improvement in PPro.
