  Video/Audio delay when editing in PAL

  When I edit in a NTSC project my desktop audio/video matches the output of my DV deck (via Firewire) which goes to a monitor and sound board. However when I setup a PAL project and start editing I get a 1-2 second delay between my desktop video to my video monitor and speakers. I have tried this using a DSR-25 and the newer HVR-M25U, same results. Using the exact same DV output setups in Final Cut Pro I don’t get the delay. Is this normal for APP2?

  I don;t edit in PAL, but you could try setting your audio out to firewire and take the audio out of the deck instead and see if that issue is still there.

  Thanks for your suggestion and I understand what you are saying but my issue is when editing in PAL the audio and video from the DV deck is lagging about 1 second behind the audio and video coming from the desktop. This does not happen when I edit in NTSC or when I edit in Final Cut Pro in PAL.

  What file version of msdv.sys are you using ?

  The version I am using is 5.1.2600.0

  Note that my issue is similar to yours only in the delay between internal and external monitors, but I did not have the complication of the NTSC thing oir FCP,so I have no idea if it is even a fix for you.

  BTW: I am a PAL Lander.
