    Hi there,

We’re shooting another short next Friday and considering using a Sony Z1u, in HDV mode.

Can I capture the 720P HDV footage in PP at hi-def quality or is it always downconverted to DV ?

    Thanks very much,
    Derrick

Premiere Pro can capture HDV via firewire.

The Z1 does not support 720, only 1080

    Thanks Harm,

I looked up the spec now, and you are right.

Dang, I would like a movie look, but with good CC I could probably make 1080 interlaced work. My last stuff was with the dvx100a, so I’m sure this will look better even if it is interlaced.

Hey, my friend brought over his sony hdv cam and we tried to capture it tru pp2 with no luck. I could only capture it when i changed the setting on the cam to DV rather than HDV..

Am a capturing true HDV or is it down converting?

    Thanks in advance
